Privacy Policy | Elite Performance Through Breath

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Elite Performance Through Breath Smart Ring App, referred to as the App, accesses, uses, stores and shares information. The App provides general wellbeing, performance, recovery and breathwork information.

2. Information processed

Depending on the features and permissions selected by the user, the App may process:

Heart rate and pulse-derived variability, including HRV
Blood oxygen readings
Sleep duration and sleep-stage information
Steps, workouts, movement and activity information
Stress, readiness, fatigue, resting-heart-rate and recovery estimates
Breathwork sessions, goals, profile information and feedback
Ring connection, synchronisation and diagnostic information
Health Connect data authorised by the user
Location for an optional GPS workout route or optional weather context
Messages and context deliberately sent through an optional online coach feature

3. Sources

Information can come from a compatible smart ring through Bluetooth, Android Health Connect, Android device services, user entries, breathwork or workout sessions, and information deliberately exported or shared by the user.

4. Purposes

The App uses information to display trends, calculate personalised baselines and non-clinical indicators, recommend general breathwork, record sessions and workouts, synchronise a compatible ring, fill authorised Health Connect gaps, share user-selected records with Health Connect, and troubleshoot technical problems.

5. Local storage

Primary ring measurements, App history, baselines, preferences and App-generated indicators are stored locally on the Android device. They remain until deleted through the App, Android storage settings or uninstallation. Health Connect information is managed separately in Health Connect.

6. Health Connect

With permission, the App may read and write heart rate, oxygen saturation, steps and sleep. Read access fills genuine gaps where direct ring data is missing. Write access makes ring records available to other authorised Health Connect apps. Health Connect is optional and can be revoked in Android settings.

Health Connect data is not sold, used for advertising or transferred except to provide a user-requested feature, when the user deliberately directs the transfer, or when required by law. Use of Health Connect information is subject to applicable Limited Use requirements.

7. Bluetooth, notifications and background operation

Bluetooth finds and communicates with compatible smart rings. Notifications may provide user-enabled synchronisation, battery, breathwork and elevated-load alerts. Foreground or background operation may support an active workout, a user-enabled live stress watch, ring connectivity and scheduled synchronisation. These permissions are not used for advertising or unrelated tracking.

8. Location

Location can be used for an outdoor workout route when selected by the user. Optional weather context can use a location fix to obtain city-level conditions. Where weather context is enabled, coordinates may be sent securely to Open-Meteo to return weather information. These features are optional and require permission. Android 11 and earlier may also require Location permission for Bluetooth scanning.

9. Optional online coach

If an online coach provider is enabled and used, the App may transmit the user's message and the health, activity, sleep or environmental context deliberately included with that request to the selected provider over HTTPS. The user must receive a separate disclosure before the first transmission. Provider processing is also governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy. The App does not use health information for advertising.

10. User-initiated sharing

Reports and diagnostics are not automatically uploaded by the App. Sharing occurs only after the user opens Android's share chooser and selects a destination. Users should check the recipient before sharing health information.

11. Disclosure and sale

Elite Performance Through Breath does not sell or rent personal or health information. Information may be disclosed only at the user's direction, to provide a requested service, to investigate a security or support issue, to comply with law, or to protect users and legal rights.

12. Retention and deletion

Local information remains until the user deletes it, clears App storage or uninstalls the App. Health Connect records and permissions must be managed separately. Identifiable support or diagnostic material voluntarily sent to Elite Performance Through Breath is retained only as reasonably necessary for support, legal and security purposes. 13. Security and overseas processing

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used. HTTPS protects supported online transfers in transit. No electronic system is completely secure. A selected email, online coach, weather or sharing provider may process information outside Australia under its own privacy practices.

14. Children

The App is intended primarily for adults. A person under 18 should use it only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

15. Rights and complaints

Users may refuse or revoke optional permissions, choose whether to export information, delete local data, and request access, correction or deletion of eligible identifiable information held directly by Elite Performance Through Breath. Complaints may be made by email and, if unresolved, may be referred to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

16. Changes

This policy may be updated when features, legal requirements or information-handling practices change. The current effective date will be shown on this page.
